Elvis Week officially runs from Friday, August 11th through Saturday, August 169th. Whether you're visiting Memphis for the week or are a local preparing for the onslaught, here's what you need to know. There are a ton of Elvis Week events including traditional events such as the Elvis Fan Club Presidents Event, Graceland Insiders Event, Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest and an Elvis candlelight vigil plus special concerts, panel discussions, dances and much more.
Join Backbeat Tours for an Elvis tribute tour with a twist! As unique as the man himself, the Hound Dog Tour takes a one-of-a-kind approach to sharing Elvis’ legacy in a high-energy concert and sightseeing tour all rolled into one. The cornerstone event of Elvis Week each year is the Candlelight Vigil. The Elvis Candlelight Vigil always begins on August 15th and lasts well into the morning of August 16, as fans walk up the driveway to Meditation Garden holding a candle in quiet remembrance of Elvis. Candlelight Vigil participants numbering in the tens of thousands gather on Elvis Presley Blvd. during the evening to listen to music, remember Elvis and enjoy the memorials that are created by fans along the street.
